Here is where I'll give the plaudits to sites that I think in my personal opinion has originality in design, functionality and a sound way of blending different web skills together.
This is a portfolio site designed and developed by Finbarr Notte. This guy has created some fantastic designs but his own site is quite awe-inspiring from the personal viewpoint. His site has been submitted to numerous sites because of its originality. Its different, its pink (which works really well in this instance) and it's definitely worth a look. This illustrative and design portfolio is quite refreshing indeed - and it belongs to a designer called Emil Paun. Apart from the normal web, print and stationery design Emil really sets himself apart with his vector "cartoon" style graphics. I think it's an excellent and great breath of fresh air. Pat O'Neill's Stick & Ink journal was launched in June 2005 and went through several design and development re-builds. My understanding is that it has no real plan beyond being a journal - a place with Pat's various thoughts, experiences, and ideas. As the site has evolved from it's first launch to it's present status, it has been a refreshing read and had turned out to be a very well designed and built site. Unfortunately you guys will never get to see it as his new site is as you see above. So as far as his journal goes, you'll have to dig around his site to try and find it. Pat is based in Brooklyn, New York. Click the link view Pat's site.
Andy is one of those Uni grad's with a fantastic eye for detail and is great with Adobe Illustrator. I've known Andy for a couple of years now and it's thanks for his inspiration and help that I've re-vamped my site. His site is probably the most original on my little list but it gets equal plaudits (no favoritism!). Andy "shout out" is from Kingston but originally hails from some part in London I think. His accent makes you think he is related to the Michell brothers(sorry mate! ha-ha) anyway! It is a very well designed site with some great illustrations therein. Click the link view Andy's site.
